FIRST CERTIFICATE
PRIVATE PILOT
The first step toward a lifetime of aviation. Your private pilot certificate grants you the freedom to fly single-engine aircraft to destinations near and far — for leisure, business, or adventure. This is where your story begins.
PRE-REQUISITES
  • 17 years old to certificate (solo at 16)

  • English proficiency

  • Proof of citizenship or TSA approval

HOW TO START
  • Schedule a discovery flight

  • Setup your schedule and lesson plan with your flight instructor

  • Start flying!

REQUIREMENTS
  • 3rd-class medical certificate

  • 40 hrs flight time minimum

  • Most students finish 60–80 hrs

  • Written + practical test

EXPAND YOUR HORIZONS
INSTRUMENT RATING
Navigate through clouds and varied weather with confidence. Your instrument rating opens new destinations and dramatically increases your utility as a pilot — a critical step toward professional aviation.

PRE-REQUISITES
  • Private pilot certificate

  • Proof of citizenship / TSA approval

HOW TO START
  • Schedule your first flight.

  • Setup your schedule and lesson plan with your flight instructor

  • Start flying (2 hr blocks twice a week is usually what works best)

REQUIREMENTS
  • 3rd-class medical certificate

  • 40 hrs instrument time

  • 50 hrs PIC, 15 hrs dual instruction

  • IFR cross-country 250+ nm

  • Written + practical test

EARN WHILE YOU FLY
COMMERCIAL PILOT
Your commercial certificate authorizes you to be compensated for flying — a major milestone in any pilot's career. This is the bridge between private flying and the professional aviation world, and the foundation for your ATP.
REQUIREMENTS
  • 3rd-class medical minimum

  • 250 total flight hours

  • Complex hour requirements

  • Written + practical test

GIVE BACK TO AVIATION
FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR
Monetize your expertise and build hours by instructing the next generation. Many pilots build their career with a CFI certificate before moving into commercial or airline operations — a strategic and rewarding path.
PRE-REQUISITES
  • At least 18 years of age

  • Commercial pilot certificate + instrument rating

  • Spin training endorsement

  • Log all areas of 14 CFR 61.187

  • Multiple knowledge tests

  • Practical test (checkride)
